Vitara just keeps on running – after more than 436,000 miles!

15th May 2026

Suzuki tells us…

(All words and photographs from Suzuki).

As yet another example of the renowned and much awarded reliability of the Suzuki range of cars, a customer of dealer Hilton Suzuki Bedford has just completed an incredible 436,500 miles in his Vitara SZ-T with 1.6-litre petrol engine – and in less than 10 years.

Purchased new in 2017, the owner has had the car correctly dealer serviced every few months and used it daily including for multiple trips travelling right across Europe. It has proved to be faultless in use over this time and still running its original engine, gearbox and exhaust system.

The Vitara runs perfectly and with no oil leaks noted either after covering this huge mileage with the only wear and tear components needing regular replacement being brake pads and around 15 sets of tyres plus renewal of just one driveshaft rubber boot.

The further good news is that the owner has recently traded in his trusted Suzuki for a 2024 Approved Used Vitara Hybrid and will perhaps continue to travel these staggering distances with the brand in the coming years.

This latest durability result also further reinforces Suzuki’s reputation and four easy to understand product pillars across its range which are Tech, Efficiency, Quality and Trust.
