Inspire curious minds this Summer with £1 child tickets and fun family activities based on two exciting feature exhibitions

The British Motor Museum tells us…

(All words and photographs from The British Motor Museum).

Summer has officially arrived at the British Motor Museum with a wealth of family activities, running from 17 July – 2 September, focused on two incredible feature exhibitions, both packed with fascinating cars and stories.

First there’s Forza Horizon 6: The Experience, where visitors can discover a fantastic line-up of cars from the game, and get behind the wheel of a state-of-the-art racing simulator to test their mettle in the digital world. Anyone who sets a lap time has the chance to win a Forza Horizon-themed goody bag stuffed with prizes, as the Museum has teamed up with Playground Games to offer this exciting prize for each week of the summer holidays!

The exhibition also forms the inspiration for a duo of fun family trails! Outside the exhibition, there are seven cars hidden in the collections that also star in Forza Horizon 6. Children can collect their Tank Passport and add a new stamp for each car, with designs inspired by this landmark release. They can also pick up a Forza Horizon 6 activity sheet and look for Tank himself around the Museum, learning facts about the game as they go!

Meanwhile, Spoiler Alert: The Hot Hatch Story offers a bold new tribute to these everyday heroes of the road, blending vibrant visuals and a retro soundtrack with some of the most iconic hot hatches from the 80s and 90s.

Spoiler Alert Name Dropper.

On 17-21 & 24-28 August, the Museum will be diving deeper into Spoiler Alert with themed days! On each of these days, there will be family tours running at 11.30am and 1.30pm, featuring hot hatch racers Simon Spoiler and Alice Alert, and the track will be out for children to burn some rubber with the remote-controlled cars.

Throughout the holidays the whole family can take a ride around the site with a duo of cars inspired by Spoiler Alert! Rides in a 1980 Triumph Dolomite or a 1984 Vauxhall Astra* will be available from Monday to Friday (1pm to 3pm) from 20 July to 28 August. There is no charge for the rides, but donations are welcome.

Children with a crafty side can dive into the “Creation Station”. With plenty of craft supplies in the Learning Hub, visitors can build and take home a car or a “Cube-Bot”, inspired by the exhibitions and made from card, adding lights and movement with the power of circuitry!

There’s plenty more to be enjoyed throughout the summer with Shows most weekends, Mini Motorist Mondays, Mellow Monday on 3 August and finally the Summer Access Day on 13 August, delivering a welcoming experience for the widest possible audience.

With so many activities and experiences to enjoy, and with the Great British Summer Savings scheme meaning child tickets are just £1 until 1 September, there’s no better time to book a great value day out at the Museum.

Museum entry is just £18 for adults in advance or £21 on the day, £16 for concessions in advance or £19 on the day, £1 for children (5-16 years) until 1 September and under 5s are FREE. You can also Gift Aid or donate your entry fee and receive an Annual Pass at no extra cost**.
