Campervan specialist Wellhouse Leisure forges ahead

28th December 2023

Wellhouse Leisure has achieved great success in 2023 by producing new campervan conversions of used vehicles it has imported from Japan, such as this Toyota Alphard.

Wellhouse Leisure diversifies product range, increases production of lower priced campervan conversions, and has best ever year for sales…

They tell us:

(All words and images from Wellhouse leisure).

Wellhouse Leisure celebrates record year and announces new initiatives for 2024:
new Ford Transit Custom PHEV, DIY campervan kits and Alphard campervan hire fleet.

  • Wellhouse Leisure recorded its best year ever for campervan sales in 2023 helped by increasing production of more affordable used (ULEZ compliant) petrol models imported from Japan.
  • New business activities for Wellhouse Leisure in 2024 include:
    • New: Wellhouse Leisure is expanding and acquiring an adjoining building.
    • New: Wellhouse to launch one of first conversions of the new Ford Transit Custom PHEV
    • New: DIY campervan furniture kits for VW T6, Ford Transit Custom, Toyota Proace (etc.)
    • New: wholesale campervan parts and accessories available direct from Wellhouse Leisure (e.g. Vitrifigo fridges, Webasto heaters, Remis blinds, Schnierle seats, and more).
    • New: campervan rental business using Wellhouse Leisure Toyota Alphard conversions
  • Wellhouse Leisure success at the Owner Satisfaction Awards 2024:
    • Gold Award, Best Van Converter – Manufacturer (New and Used)
    • Winner Best Van Converter – Dealer (New and Used)

2023 is coming to a successful end for Wellhouse Leisure as it celebrates its best year for campervan sales (and turnover) in 20 years and winning the top Gold Awards in two Best Van Converter categories (manufacturer and dealer) in the Owner Satisfaction Awards 2024 with scores of 95.2 percent and 98.2 percent, respectively. It has also qualified to become a member of the National Caravan Council (NCC).

At a time when prices of new base vehicles and campervans have continued to increase, Wellhouse Leisure grew its sales by diversifying its product range and switching to increasing production of its more affordable, lower-priced campervan conversions based on used vehicles it imports from Japan, such as the Toyota Alphard and Nissan NV350. These vehicles have high standard specifications, low mileages and petrol engines which are ULEZ-compliant. They receive the same quality of campervan conversion as all other models from Welhouse Leisure.

Looking ahead to 2024, Wellhouse Leisure is planning another busy year with some interesting additions to its business.

One of these additions is an expansion of its production facility by acquiring an adjoining building. This will create extra space in order to increase production in 2024.

A highlight of 2024 will be Wellhouse Leisure’s first conversion of the new Ford Transit Custom. This will have the latest Ford PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle), 2.5-litre petrol engine, and the first models are expected to be ready in early spring 2024.

Wellhouse Leisure will be one of the first to introduce a campervan conversion of the new Ford Transit Custom in the UK in 2024.

To meet the growing demand for DIY van conversions, Wellhouse Leisure will be offering fully assembled furniture kits to fit the Volkswagen T6 Transporter, Ford Transit Custom and the Vauxhall Vivaro/Toyota Proace/Peugeot Expert/Citroën Dispatch/Fiat Scudo models. As it has done in the past, Wellhouse Leisure is also going start selling parts again for van conversions to professional and DIY converters.

Also new for 2024 will be the introduction of a small fleet of campervans to hire. There will be two Toyota Alphard conversions available to hire for affordable holidays or as an ideal way to ‘try before you buy’.

David Elliott, CEO and founder of Wellhouse Leisure commented: “After the challenges of COVID and restricted supplies of vehicles and parts over the last couple of years, we are delighted to have bounced back and achieved record number of sales in 2023. One reason for our success has been our ability to listen to what the market wants and being as flexible as possible with our production. A great example of this is increasing the number of great value conversions of the used vehicles we import from Japan at a time when brand new vans have become more expensive and been in short supply.”

“We’re proud to have built close relationships with our customers and so grateful for all the votes we received to beat all our key competitors in the Customer Satisfaction Awards 2024,” added David.

Full details of all the new offerings from Wellhouse Leisure for 2024 will be available soon. In the meantime, to keep up to date with all the latest news from Wellhouse Leisure look out for updates on its Facebook and Instagram channels or visit https://wellhouseleisure.com/
