Wellhouse Leisure has produced its first all-electric KIA PV5 i-Camper which is now available to view and test drive – by prior appointment only – at its factory in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
An exceptional response to the initial announcement of the KIA PV5 i-Camper resulted in customers placing deposits before the first production version was finished. As a result, the first assignment of 30 vehicles is already sold and a second batch ordered.

It’s a game-changer,” said David Elliott, CEO and Founder of Wellhouse Leisure. “Most of our KIA PV5 i-Camper customers have already switched to an electric car and don’t want a petrol or diesel campervan. They’ve been eagerly waiting for an electric campervan that combines a generous touring range with a high-quality conversion from a well-known manufacturer with an excellent reputation,” he added.
Charging and range
Wellhouse Leisure has chosen the higher-specification KIV PV5 Plus model for the i-Camper conversion, with the larger 71.2kWh, long-range battery, offering a range of up to 247 miles (WLTP).
KIA recently set a Guinness World Record for electric light commercial vehicles by travelling 430 miles in a PV5 on a single charge (while carrying its maximum payload). This was achieved in a real-world condition on public roads in Germany.
A heat pump is standard to help maximise range during cooler weather conditions. Using a rapid charger, the PV5 can recharge from 10 to 80% in just 30 minutes, adding up to approximately 197 miles range.
Compact for everyday driving
Its compact dimensions – 4.69m long, 1.89m wide and 1.99m high – make it perfect to use for everyday driving, with rapid charging offering a 10% to 80% charge possible in 30 minutes. KIA’s innovative design and efficient batteries provide more interior space that its exterior dimensions might suggest.
Comfort and convenience
The gas-free interior is available with a choice of four different finishes. It includes a side kitchen with an induction hob (and option of a 700W microwave) and an electric condenser fridge (42-litre), plus plenty of storage and LED lighting throughout. A 200W solar panel, a 150Ah lithium leisure battery and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) ensure off-grid power when away from a mains hookup.
For maximum convenience, the crash-tested, individual rear seats, made by Schnierle in Germany, slide forwards and backwards to maximise storage or living space. They also recline to form a double bed, or can be removed completely, giving plenty of ways to create extra space to carry bikes or other large items.
The pop-top roof provides a second double bed with the added comfort of Froli springs for a good night’s sleep.
Owners will appreciate the heated front seats and heated steering wheel during the colder months, while the cab also features a 12.9 in touchscreen navigation system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Apple Auto, plus front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.
Prices and other details
The KIA PV5 i-Camper is available to order from £59,995 with four exterior colours (Clear White, Black Pearl, Steel Grey and Cityscape Green) and a choice of exterior graphics available. It is registered as a motorhome by the DVLA and retains the KIA 7-year warranty.

A high-top PV5 is expected in 2027, plus Wellhouse Leisure also plans to launch a conversion of the larger KIA PV7 model that recently made its world debut at the IAA Transportation 2026 show in Hanover, Germany.
Quality assured
Wellhouse Leisure complies with the official KIA converter programme and is awaiting confirmation of NCC Approved status and VCA Type Approval. Being registered as a motorcaravan, it can travel at up to 70mph on UK motorways and dual carriageways, and still benefits from KIA’s seven-year vehicle warranty.
