Morris Ital saloon goes to a young driver as part of the much-respected Classic Car Loan Project…
Yesterday Dan Tompkinson became the recipient of the 1980 Morris Ital at the BMC/BL Show at The British Motor Museum, Gaydon.
The one owner car, which had been bequeathed to the Morris Marina & Ital Owners’ Club, had been under preparation by members starting at the NEC Restoration Show in March.
Chris Weedon, Club Chairman said, “I am delighted that all our work has come together to support the Classic Car Loan Project …… but more importantly to give Dan his opportunity to join the classic car scene.”
The BMM show made the perfect backdrop for the car hand over. The Marina and Ital Owners’ Club will be supporting Dan through the next 12 months to ensure that the experience goes well.
The photograph (for which, thanks to Bob Wilkinson) shows Dan along with Marina and Ital Club Chairman Chris Weedon, Bob Wilkinson (director CCLP) and Phil Beck of Peter James Insurance.

Kim adds: “This is terrific to see. This marvellous scheme is such a great innovation in the classic car world, aiming to help to encourage young people, cultivating their interest in classics for the future”.
