Beaulieu tells us…
Beaulieu is inviting members of the Fire and Rescue Service and their families to enjoy a free together day out over the August Bank Holiday weekend, as a special thank you for their efforts tackling the recent New Forest wildfire.
From Saturday 29 to Monday 31 August, members can present their staff ID card on arrival at Beaulieu to receive free admission for themselves and their family* after what has been an extremely busy and challenging summer for them.
The gesture comes after firefighters from across Hampshire, Dorset, the Isle Of Wight and surrounding counties have spent thousands of hours tackling the major New Forest blaze, which began on 9 August. The fire has affected approximately 1.6 square kilometres of heathland so far, with crews working for days to contain the blaze and tackle hotspots.
Beaulieu is offering the free admission as a gesture of appreciation for the dedication and commitment shown by firefighters and support crews working to protect the New Forest and surrounding communities.
A Beaulieu spokesperson says “Those who serve our communities and protect the New Forest deserve our deepest thanks. The courage shown by crews in tackling this fire has been remarkable. We hope this small gesture allows firefighters and their families to enjoy some well-earned time together before the summer holiday ends”.
Beaulieu is home to its own fire station. The station has a crew of nine, five of whom are employed by Beaulieu and balance their firefighting responsibilities alongside their day-to-day roles working across the Estate.
The Bank Holiday weekend is the perfect opportunity for families to enjoy a day out at Beaulieu with Summer Holiday Fun at Beaulieu running until 31 August.
Visitors can step into the world of Disney and Pixar’s Cars with the new 20th anniversary display, featuring life-size models of Lightning McQueen, Jackson Storm and Finn McMissile. Those who love Horrible Histories ® can follow Rattus the rat on a Vile Victorians trail, uncovering gruesome stories from Beaulieu’s Victorian past, from deadly fashion and vile food to Victorian jobs and motoring firsts.
There’s plenty more to discover as families can enjoy meeting living history characters, falconry displays and motoring parades, all included in an admission ticket to the Beaulieu attraction.
A ticket to Beaulieu includes all summer holiday activities as well as full access to everything else the attraction has to offer including the National Motor Museum, We Had One Of Those, Palace House, a 13th-century Beaulieu Abbey, Little Beaulieu, the Secret Army Exhibition and unlimited rides on the Monorail and Veteran Bus.
