Your driveway could earn some cash…

‘Try’ to rent out your driveway on rugby match days?

  • Strong demand for parking near Premiership rugby grounds
  • Nearby homeowners can make significant amount of money from their empty driveway
  • For rugby fans, parking on a rented driveway can be cheaper and more convenient than official alternatives

As the new Premiership Rugby season soon kicks off, YourParkingSpace.co.uk is advising homeowners of the money-making opportunities by renting out their driveways to rugby fans for match day parking.

Local businesses close to rugby grounds, many on nearby industrial estates, office developments and business parks, can also make a tidy sum by listing their empty parking spaces, many of which lie vacant over the weekend and on evenings.

And while the Premiership is just days away, the rugby Autumn Internationals also begin in just a couple of months at some of the biggest rugby stadiums in the UK, where parking spaces are in even higher demand.

Being near a major sporting venue like Twickenham, many used for major music events throughout the year, can also mean a steady stream of additional income generated by an empty driveway.

Shoma Seelochan has a driveway almost on the doorstep of the Twickenham Stoop, home of the Harlequins, plus within close proximity of Twickenham Stadium, which she offers for £16.00 on match days.

She said: “It was a no brainer as some of the biggest events for rugby are on our doorstep.

It’s an easy way to make a little extra cash with no effort or hassle involved. I only wish I had more spaces to offer!”

Examples of other homeowners and businesses offering parking spaces at the start of the season include a driveway available near the Bristol Bears for £7.50 for four hours, a space for the Gloucester Rugby match for £6.50 and a space close to Northampton Saints for £5.63.

Meanwhile, there’s a driveway near Bath Rugby available for £6.25, while near Exeter Chiefs a driveway is being offered by one homeowner for £7.50. Close to the Leicester Tigers and a space is being offered for £6.00 while near Saracens a driveway is available for £9.99.

However, there are even more opportunities with YourParkingSpace.co.uk for homeowners near the Newcastle Falcons and Worcester Warriors where, at present, there are a very limited number of driveways or empty spaces currently being offered near to the grounds.

Yet it’s not just homeowners and businesses that can benefit from rented driveway parking as savvy rugby fans can also make big parking savings by pre-booking their space.

Harrison Woods, managing director at YourParkingSpace.co.uk, said: “Premiership rugby attracts big crowds and high demand for parking, meaning that nearby homeowners and businesses can make additional income by renting out their driveways and empty spaces.

“However, those pre-booking their parking space with YourParkingSpace.co.uk could also save money when attending matches.”
