The British Motor Museum hosts an open evening at their ‘Collections Centre’ on 10th January 2023

22nd December 2022

An exclusive chance to view the British Motor Museum’s ‘Collections Centre’…

The British Motor Museum is to host an exclusive opportunity for visitors to look around the Museum’s Collections Centre at a special evening on Tuesday 10 January.  Visitors will have 3 hours to explore the 4,500m2 building which holds over 200 cars from the British Motor Museum and Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust’s collections. The building houses some of the oldest British cars, to sports cars and one-off prototypes, some of which have rarely been on display to the public before.

A select few of the vehicles will have bonnets, boots and doors opened for this special event so visitors can see more of the cars than they would during normal opening hours. Visitors can also meet the Museum’s Head of Collections and the Collections Manager of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, as well as listen in to the workshop briefings to find the inside story on the current restoration projects in the workshop.

Dinner is also included with a choice of Beef & Vegetable Casserole with colcannon and peas or Vegan Winter Vegetable Casserole with roasted new potatoes and peas followed by Bramley Apple Strudel or Apple Crumble.

Cat Boxall, Curator at the British Motor Museum said “We’re delighted to be hosting our first Late evening of 2023 to give visitors a rare opportunity to see the Collections Centre and a ‘behind the scenes’ insight into how we store and preserve our vehicles. Those who came to the last Collections Centre evening will enjoy a brand new line-up of cars with their bonnets, boots and doors open and new restoration projects in the workshop too!”.

Tickets cost £16 each or £11 for Members. Premium Members can attend the event for just £5. As this event is outside normal Museum opening hours Annual Passes are not valid. Limited places are available so early booking is advised. To find out more information please visit the website at  whats-on/museum-late-collections-centre or call 01926 895300.

Our well-respected contributors live and breathe motor cars; aren’t we lucky?

Contributors to the site include talented, highly-respected people (so they tell me) on the hallowed membership list of the Guild of Motoring Writers, and from the similarly well thought-of Western Group of Motoring Writers. In addition there are valued contributions from other knowledgeable and capable motoring writers who have something useful to say about all aspects of driving and running vehicles in the 21st Century. All of our team are passionate about motor cars!
