Smart #1 model availability

2nd June 2022

Dave Moss reports… smart has now confirmed UK availability for its new #1 all-electric compact SUV model.

(Dave advised on the imminent arrival of the new all-electric smart model in his Wheels-alive article on 27th April; to read this, please go here: smart-moves-ahead)

UK Order books will open in December 2022 for first deliveries in mid-2023, though a run of 1000 special “Launch Edition” examples will be available across Europe ahead of that – only 100 of which will be coming to Britain.

The Launch Edition will have an exclusive colour combination of white bodywork and gold roof, and offer various unique design cues. Amongst these will be a bespoke “Halo Roof “, featuring an intricate chequered pattern, with 19 inch alloy wheels mirroring that design.

Exclusive trim colours and a two-tone leather interior will also feature, alongside high equipment levels including matrix LED headlamps, a 13-speaker Beats audio system, a fully automated parking facility – and wireless smartphone charging.

While potential purchasers can now register interest in the new car at www.future.smart.com, no pricing information has so far been released.
