News – Poole Audi Apprentice Achievements

23rd November 2017

Luke Spyers in Poole Audi’s workshop.

State of the art Poole Audi dealership celebrates apprentice scheme achievements…

Since its incorporation in 2001 Poole Audi has invested heavily in its apprentice schemes. Currently the company has four apprentices in its 24-bay workshop, each apprentice being at a different stage of the scheme.

Poole Audi’s four apprentices include Phil Lord (21), a third year apprentice, who has already had his final intensive one-day Service Technician Assessment and therefore is now a qualified ‘Audi Service Technician’, having attended the Audi National Learning Centre each year, progressing through the accredited system.

Phil said: “My actual apprenticeship from NVQ level 1 to 3, in effect the framework of my course, finishes in February 2018 even though in reality I am already a qualified Audi Service Technician!

It was the perfect opportunity for me back in 2015, as cars are my passion and now my job is my passion. I would work on cars 24/7 if I had the chance, and now I work with the best in the business.”

Apprentices can join Poole Audi from the age of 15 (just before their 16th birthday) or later in life; for example Luke Spyers (23) started his working life in MacDonald’s and after a number of years elected for a career change, and is now a first year apprentice at Poole Audi!

There are over fifty members of the service and technical department at Poole Audi.

Our well-respected contributors live and breathe motor cars; aren’t we lucky?

Contributors to the site include talented, highly-respected people (so they tell me) on the hallowed membership list of the Guild of Motoring Writers, and from the similarly well thought-of Western Group of Motoring Writers. In addition there are valued contributions from other knowledgeable and capable motoring writers who have something useful to say about all aspects of driving and running vehicles in the 21st Century. All of our team are passionate about motor cars!
