KGM Motors UK celebrates 70th anniversary of Ssangyong/KGM with limited edition Musso Saracen Platinum…

KGM Motor UK tells us:

(All words and photographs from KGM Motors UK).

  • KGM UK unveils the limited-edition KGM Musso Saracen Platinum, limited to 70 units, to celebrate its 70th anniversary
  • The Platinum edition boasts a host of additional accessories as standard as well as exclusive decals and a bespoke interior numbered badge to enhance its contemporary and refined characteristics
  • Available from 1st September, 2024

KGM Motors UK, formerly SsangYong, is delighted to announce the launch of the special-edition KGM Musso Saracen Platinum, an exclusive model to the UK market to celebrate the brand’s 70th anniversary. Limited to just 70 vehicles, the pick-up has been crafted for customers seeking the ultimate blend of a class-leading, practical workhorse with a contemporary and refined finish.

Designed with pick-up enthusiasts in mind, this limited-edition retains the core attributes of the multi-purpose, award-winning Musso Saracen, known for its 1-tonne+ payload and 3.5-tonne towing capability – that’s able to carry and tow to max capacity, all at the same time – while incorporating unique anniversary features. Available in Marble Gray or Grand White colourways, the Platinum’s accessories include:

  • Electric roll-top with remote control

The weatherproof shutter opens quickly with the use of a convenient key fob and can be stopped and locked into any staged positions

  • Matt black sports styling bars

Attractive sports bars to add an air of toughness. Made from stainless steel, they are durable and resistant to corrosion and rust, with an added powder coating for further durability.

  • Extended wheel arches

The Musso Saracen on steroids! The Saracen Platinum has an enhanced look with wheel arch extenders that give your award-winning pick up a more aggressive stance.

  • Matt black sidesteps

Made from premium quality materials and designed for practicality, whilst adding an extra touch of style to your special edition.

  • Musso skid plate

For preventing damage to the underside of your vehicle, the plate has a black finish with Musso logo branding.

This special edition also boasts exclusive details, including additional Saracen Platinum decals, a numbered interior badge, and a commemorative keyring indicating which of the 70 units is yours.

Kevin Griffin, Managing Director at KGM Motors UK, said: “Celebrating our 70th Anniversary with the launch of the Musso Saracen Platinum is a special moment for us at KGM UK. This limited-edition variant embodies the very best of our multi-award-winning pick-up – practicality, versatility, and style … but with some extra special anniversary treatment. We are thrilled to present the Platinum edition on our platinum anniversary as we continue to push the boundaries for pick-ups in the UK market.”

Enhancing the highest specification KGM Musso Saracen further, the Platinum edition has been engineered to exceed expectations. Powered by a 2.2 diesel engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission, it features a selectable 4×4 with low ratio, delivering 202 PS and 441 Nm (325 lb.ft) of torque as well as a best-in-class towing capacity of 3,500 kg and a payload capacity of 1,095 kg while towing at maximum capacity.

The interior is equipped with premium Nappa leather seats, power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, heated front and rear seats, and a heated leather steering wheel. Additional features include automatic dual-zone air conditioning, a 12.3-inch full digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch smart audio screen with TomTom navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Google Android Auto, as well as a rear-view camera and electronic cruise control.

Externally, it sports 18-inch black alloy wheels, a chrome ladder-style front grille, black and silver roof rails, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, and black finished exterior details. It also adds front and rear parking sensors, rear privacy glass, and LED daytime running lights.

To ensure driver and passenger safety, the Platinum benefits from the latest in safety technology with six airbags and smart safety features such as a Brake Assist System, Safety Exit Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Trailer Sway Control. Peace of mind is further assured with a 5-year / 100,000-mile warranty.

With its practical and versatile performance, exceptional styling, and sophisticated safety features, the Musso Saracen Platinum is the pick-up choice for those who want to excel in their field.

The all-new Musso Saracen Platinum is available in a 6-speed automatic transmission and is priced at £33,995 ex. VAT.
