Jaguar XJ220 on its way to having new purpose-developed Bridgestone tyres

Author/Source: Kim Henson

10th January 2017

Iconic Jaguar XJ220 undergoes extensive testing in the development of new Bridgestone tyres.

Kim Henson reports…

In recent months engineers from Bridgestone, working with Don Law and the legendary XJ220, chassis No. 004, have been developing all-new perfectly fitted tyres, taking full advantage of 25 years of technological progress at Bridgestone. During continuous testing, the car has been shod with hand-made tyres.

While incorporating the latest technology, the engineers have also worked hard to ensure that the new tyre design and performance characteristics comply with the original targets set for the vehicle.

In carrying out this work, Don Law and Bridgestone have brought together the original band of drivers and engineers.

They are said to be nearing the ‘finish line’ in this project… Watch this space!

In the meantime, to see the car in action, there’s a short video that you can see by CLICKING HERE.
