8th July 2025

INEOS Grenadier Trialmaster X LETECH, Iceland.
  • New portal axle model curated by renowned German off-road specialists, LETECH – the INEOS Grenadier Trialmaster X LETECH.

  • Orders open in July, initially in Germany and for European customers.

INEOS tells us…

  • Portal axle modification increases ground clearance by 186mm to 450mm and wading depth from 800mm to 1,050mm
  • Lynn Calder, CEO, INEOS Automotive, said: “The Grenadier Trialmaster X LETECH is the perfect example of how the off-road fundamentals of the Grenadier makes it the ideal base for epic conversions. With such strong interest from customers, we were very keen to respond quickly and collaborate on bringing the LETECH-enhanced Grenadier to market, starting with Europe.”

London, 8 July 2025 – After universal acclaim for the debut of the prototypes at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the portal-axled Grenadier has been approved for series production. Order books open on 8 July, with prices from around €170,000 excluding VAT & local taxes for Grenadier Station Wagon and €171,000 excluding VAT & local taxes for Quartermaster, and the first European customer deliveries will start soon after.

As well as high demand from private customers – over 1,000 registrations of interest, INEOS and LETECH also received numerous enquiries from rescue services, aid agencies and other commercial fleets operating vehicles in extreme environments.

Developed and supplied exclusively by LETECH GmbH, the conversion is based on Grenadier and Quartermaster Trialmaster vehicles straight from the Hambach factory. Vehicles are transferred to LETECH’s facilities near Stuttgart, Germany and fitted with a new heavy-duty five-link front and rear suspension layout, portal axles with wheel hubs offset from the main axle and larger 37” BFGoodrich Mud Terrain off-road tyres, the drivetrain remains unchanged.

Additionally, the conversion package includes:

  • 8.5×18” ET55 Hutchinson Industries Forged Beadlock Alloy Wheels
  • LETECH High Performance Braking System
  • LETECH Extended Wheel Arches & Off-Road Running Boards w/ jacking points
  • LETECH Front Winch Mounting System w/ WARN Zeon 10 4.5t capacity winch
  • LETECH Multi-function Rear Ladder w/ Jerry Can Mount
  • LETECH Roof Rack w/ Planking & LED Marker Lights
  • LETECH Lightbar w/ 6x LED Spotlights inc DRL function
  • LETECH Spare Wheel Carrier
  • Exclusive ‘TRIALMASTER X LETECH’ Door Sill Scuff Plates & A-pillar badging

To further enhance this, LETECH offer a fully integrated Tyre Pressure Control System, Loadspace Drawer Box w/ two lockable drawers, LED Rear Working Lamps and MAXTRAX Sand Ladder Kit.

The vehicles are available with either 3-litre turbocharged inline-six-cylinder BMW B57 diesel or B58 petrol engines. All feature the leather interior with heated front seats in either Black or Grey/Black, Safari Windows, Premium Sound System, carpet floor mats and Privacy Glass over and above the usual Trialmaster standard equipment.

The modifications made by LETECH increase ground clearance by 186mm to 450mm, wading depth from 800mm to 1,050mm. As a result, off-road geometry is significantly enhanced.

These engineering modifications also result in a wider vehicle footprint, optimised weight distribution, greater wheel travel and improved axle articulation, ensuring the Grenadier can successfully traverse deep sand, severely flooded terrain or extremely rocky environments.

The Grenadier’s impressive towing (3,500kg braked trailer) is retained for the LETECH versions, payload capacities (up to 540kg for Station Wagon; up to 642kg for Quartermaster including mandatory accessories) are enabled by uprating the vehicles’ GVM to 4.2-tonnes. The standard vehicle’s five-year, unlimited mileage mechanical factory warranty remains, and a two-year warranty is offered by LETECH on the conversion parts.

Customers in EU and EEA countries can place their order via their local Grenadier retailer, which will liaise directly with LETECH on production and delivery. LETECH will manage vehicle order, the full conversion, individual homologation for road use and shipping to the end customer’s retailer for local registration and delivery. In the home market of Germany, LETECH will manage everything from end-to-end. Plans to offer portal axle converted Grenadiers officially in other key markets globally are subject to future announcements.

Lynn Calder, CEO, INEOS Automotive, said: “The Grenadier Trialmaster X LETECH is the perfect example of how the off-road fundamentals of the Grenadier makes it the ideal base for epic conversions. With such strong interest from customers, we were very keen to respond quickly and collaborate on bringing the LETECH-enhanced Grenadier to market, starting with Europe and quickly expanding to other key markets.”
