Have you seen this Ford Anglia, stolen last night 31st January (near Exeter)?

STOLEN! THIS LOVELY FORD ANGLIA 1200 SUPER

Just in case any Wheels-Alive readers spot this car, I am very sad (and even more angry) to report that this excellent condition, and much-loved, Ford Anglia 1200 Super, belonging to a friend, was stolen last night between 7pm and 8pm from his driveway near Exeter in Devon. If you spot this vehicle, anywhere, or if you hear anyone talking about it in suspicious circumstances, please would you contact the police urgently (and/or let us know). Thank you.Meanwhile if you have a classic of your own, it would be worth reviewing any security measures that you have in place, or upgrading them as a matter of urgency. Unfortunately there have been many cases recently of classic vehicles being stolen from around the country…

As a first step if your classic has to be kept in the open, if you have a modern vehicle with relatively sophisticated security features, and that can be parked such that the classic is ‘protected’ by it, consider doing this.

Another approach would be to install a security post or barrier across the entrance to the parking area/driveway; at least this might deter ‘casual’ thieves.

It is also worth acquiring and using a steering wheel locking bar; again at least this would act as a deterrent to casual low life looking for an ‘easy target’ classic.
