VauxALL, the celebration of all Vauxhall, Opel and Bedford models, is calling all owners and enthusiasts to bring their vehicle to the event at the British Motor Museum on Sunday 17 May. Sponsored by Howden Classic Insurance Services, VauxALL is in its fourth successive year and is widely respected as one of the leading Vauxhall events in the UK. This headline May event is recognised by many as the start of the show season for the Vauxhall, Opel and Bedford community.
This year’s theme has been revealed as “Silver Legacy”, with two iconic performance Vauxhalls celebrating their 25th anniversary and two rare concepts from the 1970s and 1980s on display. Joining the wealth of Vauxhall history at the event is the special “Design Concept” vehicle ‘Quicksilver’. The one-off confirmed for the event is based on a 1986 Astra GTE and was built by the Ellesmere Port factory to celebrate its 25th (Silver) Anniversary in 1987. It will form part of the day’s entertainment in the main arena.
Vauxhall will be bringing the Mokka GSE and Grandland Electric AWD to the event. The all-new Astra is on sale from 27 May and in showrooms in June, however visitors will have the opportunity to get hands-on with one of their most important new models. The Mokka GSE is a road-going evolution of the rally-inspired concept, packing 277hp and 345Nm of torque, taking it from 0–62 mph in 5.9 seconds. The Grandland Electric AWD is the first fully electric Vauxhall with all-wheel drive.
Several iconic vehicles will celebrate milestone and anniversary years, including two rare performance models from the early 2000s; the Vauxhall VX220 and the Vauxhall Monaro, both celebrating their 25th (silver) Anniversary years. Several other models also have anniversary years, and owners are encouraged to bring the following models to the event: Victor FB – 1961 – 65 years, Viscount – 1966 – 60 years, Firenza – 1971 – 55 years, Sports Hatch – 1976 – 50 years, Bedford Rascal – 1986 – 40 years, Frontera – 1991 – 35 years, Monaro – 2001 – 25 years and VX220 – 2001 – 25 years.
Show founder and event commentator, Tim Watson, commented: “I’m exceptionally proud of the owners and the clubs who support VauxALL. Vauxhall, Opel and Bedford models are a common sight on the roads, and this year we are celebrating some of the brands’ most inspiring examples. The VX220 and Monaro remain great cars, 25 years after they first came to market, and it’s a privilege to host an event celebrating these models on their anniversary year. I’m looking forward to seeing Quicksilver, with the condition of the one-off model a tribute to its builders, previous custodians and current owner. Joined by Silver Bullet, 50 years after its reveal, VauxALL is set to be an unmissable start to the season.”
A firm favourite returning for 2026 is the main arena, where ‘Our Tim’ Watson will be interviewing guests, discussing the clubs and sharing stories of Vauxhalls from years gone by. A lifelong Vauxhall enthusiast and owner, Tim is the man behind the show. There will also be a range of trade stands that supply parts, car care products and models.
Tom Caren, Show Manager at the British Motor Museum, commented, “Tim’s passion for the brand is unquestionable, and it’s his drive and enthusiasm, coupled with the support of the Vauxhall, Opel and Bedford community, that makes this event so special. I’m sure the show will be the biggest VauxALL yet, with over 1,500 enthusiasts expected to attend.”
Visitors can also see some of the Vauxhalls from the Museum’s collection including a 1959 Velox, 1961 Victor, 1970 Viscount, 1980 Cavalier, 1997 Calibra and 2011 Ampera. Show tickets also include the opportunity to explore the Museum and Collections Centre, home to over 400 historic British cars, including the Vauxhall Heritage Collection, a selection of cars and vans from across the storied history of Vauxhall, from the first 5hp four-seater car from 1903 to the 587 bhp VXR8 GTS-R of 2017.
