(Photographs and all wortds from Beaulieu).
On 2nd and 3rd August, over one thousand supercars arrived for the highly anticipated Beaulieu Supercar Weekend with its most impressive display of hypercars yet. Thousands of supercar enthusiasts flocked to the family-friendly event to witness the astonishing line-up of prestige vehicles and heart-racing demonstrations taking place. It was an unforgettable weekend of automotive action!
A highlight of the show was the jaw-dropping Prestige & Hypercar Display on Palace House lawns, which featured icons like the Koenigsegg Regera, a 1,500-hp hybrid hypercar, the Aston Martin Valkyrie, a road-legal F1 machine, the Pagani Huayra and the rare Maserati MC-12. Classic hypercars included the ground-breaking Lamborghini Miura, often dubbed ‘the first supercar’ and the legendary Jaguar D-Type race car.
Special collections included a stunning display of porsches in partnership with Porsche Centre Bournemouth, made up of the 918 Spyder, 911 Turbo Omega, 964 Speedster and Carrera GT. Visitors could also admire the Lotus Trilogy, sponsored by Hendy Lotus Southampton, which included an Emira, Evija and the Lotus 49 from the National Motor Museum collection. Meanwhile, a stunning line up of red Ferraris known as the Famous Four showcased the F40, F50, LaFerrari and Enzo.
Other standouts included the hybrid Ferrari SF90 Spider, Jaguar C-X75 concept famous for its role in the James Bond film Spectre, Mercedes-McLaren SLR, Ferrari 812 Competizione, and two ultra-rare Bentley Baturs, one of which remains on display in the National Motor Museum until 7th September. Sunday featured the Aston Martin One-77, a British engineering masterpiece and The Lexus LFA, a rare icon with only 500 ever made.
A crowd favourite once again, the thrilling Demonstration Runs, saw supercars unleash their power along Beaulieu’s scenic Chestnut Avenue. Drivers tested their acceleration, handling and braking as they aimed to stop precisely halfway down the straight, before turning and repeating the run in the opposite direction, all to the cheers of excited spectators from behind the hay bales. The action was also broadcast live on the big screen in the Arena.
A new addition to this year’s show, The Story of Lamborghini: From Tractors to Supercars, saw show commentator Our Tim interview Lamborghini Owners Club UK Chair, Alan Robb, live in the Arena. With a Lamborghini tractor once owned by Ferruccio Lamborghini himself displayed alongside a modern supercar, the pair explored the brand’s surprising beginnings in agriculture and its evolution into one of the world’s most glamorous marques.
Another fan favourite was the Supercar Sound-Off sponsored by Nanolex Car Care UK, where a line up of stunning supercars battled for the loudest cheer by revving their powerful engines. Saturday’s trophy and bag of Nanolex goodies went to an Aston Martin Vantage, while Sunday’s champion was a thunderous Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
Long-time event supporter Brookspeed were back with another selection of supercars including a Brookspeed-UBIQ BMW M2 CSR race car, Porsche 997 GT3, 997 Turbo S Convertible and 996 Turbo as well as a McLaren 12C and a Rotax Junior Race Kart.
Sporting Bears (their stall shown below) also returned with a huge display of their members’ supercars, ranging from a Ferrari 488 and Lamborghini Aventador to a Dodge Charger police car with working sirens! Visitors were able to pay a small donation to sit in owners’ vehicles and take a selfie. As always, Sporting Bears hosted an exciting raffle to win a seat in one of their supercars during the Demonstration Runs, raising funds for local child bereavement support charity, Simon Says.
Visitors could take on the F1 Simulator for a virtual ride around the racetrack, experiencing the thrill of high-speed laps with young F1 superstar Kimi Antonelli in the driver’s seat. Meanwhile, families were able to enjoy the Mini ROVERS experience, where kids could take on an off-road adventure in a replica Series 2 Land Rover and receive their very own driving license at the finish.
A number of car clubs took part in displaying their supercars across the weekend. It was a great opportunity for members to catch up and admire each other’s vehicles. Showgoers were able to enjoy browsing a variety of trade stands, selling supercar merchandise, premium drinks and more. The event attracted several supercar spotters and influencers, who took the opportunity to capture the event on their social media platforms.
