Aston Martin appeals to graduate engineers to join their team in St. Athan, south Wales…

The drive is on for the next generation of engineers to work at Aston Martin St Athan, writes Robin Roberts.

If you are about to graduate with an Engineering degree and aspire to a career at Aston Martin, Cardiff and Vale College is hosting the iconic luxury British sport car manufacturer for a special recruitment evening on Tuesday, 30 January.

Aston Martin will be at Cardiff and Vale College’s City Centre Campus on Dumballs Road in Cardiff on 30th January from 5-7pm. This recruitment event is the ideal opportunity for people in their final year of an Engineering degree to come and speak to a member of Aston Martin’s management team to discuss career options and the company’s future plans.

In March 2016 it held the first recruitment day for potential St Athan assembly operators and had three times as many attending as it expected for 750 vacancies.

Now it’s refining its requirements for future engineers to work at the plant as it is prepared for production in 2019.

Aston Martin is looking for people in the following engineering disciplines:

  • Automotive
  • Electrical and Electronic
  • Manufacturing
  • Mechanical
  • Quality
  • Product Development
  • Body
  • Chassis
  • Powertrain
  • Vehicle Attributes

Cardiff and Vale College Vice Principal Mary Kent said, “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Engineering graduate talent in South Wales while providing those graduates with excellent career opportunities with one of the world’s most famous automotive brands.

“The iconic models that are going to be manufactured at the new facility in St Athan when it opens will be branded ‘Made in Wales’. Together, working with Aston Martin and local universities, we will help to ensure that they are made with the very best engineering talent that Wales has to offer.”

If you are a final year Engineering student and are interested with a career in Aston Martin you will need to register with CAVC and attend the full two hours from 5-7pm on 30 January.
