For more stars from TV and film, visitors can head to the newly refreshed On Screen Cars exhibition which is now home to vehicles from the UK’s most successful rom-com series, Gavin and Stacey. With the curtain falling on the much-loved TV series last year, Beaulieu is now proud to display three of the most iconic cars from the hit show, including Gavin’s blue Citroën Saxo VTS, Smithy’s Volvo 850S Estate and Uncle Bryn’s reliable Citroën Xsara Picasso.
Motorsport and Formula 1 fans are also in for a treat this summer with the recent opening of Icons of F1, a special National Motor Museum display celebrating 75 years since the first Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship. This display showcases legendary racing cars that reflect decades of innovation and sporting achievement in the world of F1 and is a must-see for visitors of all ages. For an extra adrenaline rush, don’t miss the chance to jump into a cutting-edge simulator and test your skills as a Formula 1 driver (additional charges and T&Cs apply).
For more hands-on fun, step into the past and rediscover cars from the past in Beaulieu’s newest interactive attraction, We Had One of Those. For the first time, visitors can get hands-on by opening up the doors and hopping into the driver’s seat of some of the most popular cars from the 1960s, through to the 2000s. Share your memories of family road trips and classic car moments, while introducing the next generation to the vehicles that once filled our driveways. It’s a nostalgic, family-friendly experience designed to be enjoyed together.
As you wander down to Palace House and its surrounding gardens, keep an eye out for Sculpture at Beaulieu, which has returned following its success in 2019, 2021 and 2023. For lovers of art, this must-see exhibition showcases over 200 works by nationally and internationally renowned sculptors. This year’s exhibition features a diverse range of sculptures to suit any garden or home, with prices starting from just £100 and something to appeal to every taste. Visiting with children? The Kids’ Sculpture Activity Trail is perfect for keeping them entertained as they search for specific pieces.
As you explore the attraction, keep an eye out for friendly living history characters bringing the past to life. See how many you can meet and collect their character cards along the way. Be sure to step inside the National Motor Museum for hands-on fun at the mechanic’s handling table, and don’t miss the return of Lord Montagu’s falconer with falconry displays at 1pm in the Abbey Cloister and 3pm on the lawns of Palace House.
If the kids aren’t worn out enough, they’ll love exploring Little Beaulieu, Beaulieu’s adventure play area. Modelled on Palace House, with hidden passageways, slides, a zipwire and tree-top board walk, there’s an adventure around every corner. A general admission ticket also includes unlimited rides on Beaulieu’s much-loved Monorail and Veteran Bus.
And that’s not all! Add a touch of movie magic to your summer day out by booking a phantasmagorical family ride in some of film and TV’s most famous cars.
