Playground Games and the British Motor Museum are hosting an event honouring the trailblazing women shaping the worlds of gaming and cars at Women in Games & Gears on Sunday 15 November. This event is specially designed for women and those who identify as women, aged 18 and over, and is dedicated to celebrating and inspiring women with a shared passion for gaming and automotive.
Over the course of the day, participants can enjoy engaging talks from inspirational women leading the way in gaming, automotive and motorsport, get exclusive insights into how the latest game in the Forza Horizon series was developed, and discover how an incredible team of women brought the exhibition Forza Horizon 6: The Experience to life. They can also show off their own talents as they compete for the fastest lap on the simulators, or unlock their creative side in the Design Lab.
Eventgoers will have the opportunity to meet Lia Block (pictured below), who went from karting at 11 years old to making her mark in off-road, drifting, drag racing and rally. In 2023, she became the youngest and first female ARA rally champion, and recently became the first female driver to secure an ARA National win at the Ojibwe Forests Rally. Also attending is Tessa Whittock, who swapped the world of finance for life behind the wheel and has since built an illustrious career across professional drifting, motorsport and film stunt driving. Her film credits include Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023), Ballerina (2025) and The Running Man (2025). Participants can also meet Nicole Hume, an automotive and motorsport presenter best known as host of Talking Bull, the official Oracle Red Bull Racing podcast. She now hosts the Essential F1 Podcast and presents on Electrifying.com.

Rebekah Simpson, Chief of Staff at Playground Games, said, “Following the success of Forza Horizon 6: The Experience, we’re proud to partner with the British Motor Museum on our first of its kind event, Women in Games & Gears. This event is a unique opportunity to celebrate the talented women shaping gaming, automotive, engineering and motorsport while creating a space to share experiences, build connections and explore where their own interests could lead.”
Cat Boxall, Curator at the British Motor Museum, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for our female visitors to meet world-class drivers, game developers and engineers and uncover the stories behind their success. They will hear from leading women in STEM as they share their career journeys, challenges and achievements, and gain insight into the exciting opportunities available across these innovative industries.”
Anyone attending the event is welcome to book a display ticket to show off their own car at a laidback meet as part of the event at no additional cost. Tickets include access to all talks, workshops and activities, refreshments and lunch, Museum admission and a guided tour. Early Bird prices are available until 31 October, with all tickets on sale for just £35. Places are limited, and tickets are expected to sell quickly.
